Who am I?
I’m a brown girl writer and business professional who lives in California. I have traveled a lot. Growing up, I changed school 13 times, lived in India, the UK, Kuwait, Australia, Canada before moving to the US. I’m a passionate environmentalist so you’ll see me weave in environmental themes in my writing.
What is Brown Girl Confidence?
I share my musings, learnings and insights on life, from an honest brown girl perspective, a perspective that is currently under-represented in the world. I am inspired by numerous conversations, interviews, life experiences, deep reflection, research and readings.
On my fridge is a magnet that says “Veritas vos liberabit” which means “The Truth shall set you free”. Above everything and above my own ego and fear of judgment or fear of saying something unpopular, I try to be truthful. This means you won’t get the “everything is awesome” flavor of life projection from me. I’ll tell it like it is, so you can have an authentic glimpse into brown girl challenges and brown girl opportunities. True learning and growth comes from honest reflection and that is my intent.
